YOLO!!

" Everyone has two lives, the second one starts when they realise they have only one " - Confucius Let me elaborate - Suppose you are preparing for an exam, you have two months to prepare for it. You plan everything, you dissect the syllabus, clearly set goals for the following 8 weeks. 1st day you were supposed to study chapters 1,2 and 3. But you only covered two chapters - maybe you didn't feel like studying, got busy with some other work. It's ok, no need to feel bad, you still have 59 days till exam, you can cover.  2nd day - you did good. Covered the 3rd chapter and also the day's part.  3rd day - you did even better, covered the day's part, and even more. So you started the next day's work too... Days went by, the exam date arrived, and you failed. You go home feeling sad.  You wake up next morning, and plan to pass the exam next semister. And you did! Congratulations!! Let me paint you another scenario -  You and your friends plan to go to Goa on a...

I ditched my Smartphone!

A Smartphone detox story There are a lot of trends going on the internet, ranging from diet to quirky things on tiktok! A recent one i came across was the "Smartphone Detox". It was on my mind from sometime, to ditch my smartphone, but seeing others, and particularly young people who successfully done it, I am willing to give it a shot! The idea is to just get a dumb phone for the basic needs, like calling and texting, if you could spare some extra money, you can get a KaiOS phone ( Nokia, Jio ) with a few extra things like mail, whatsapp etc!  First the cons , what could you possibly lose when switching! Upi payments  The first problem i came across was losing the ability to scan and do cashless payments. I later figured out a way to do payments, but still that requires me knowing the persons phone number linked to his account, and asking that is another small hiccup. Spam calls Smartphones show a bit of a red hue on top for spam callers, i just took it for granted. Because ...

The Novel Coronavirus!!

The coronavirus as a pandemic started in March, and is still going on strong in many countries. Though few have succeeded in curbing the numbers, they are not fully immune to the political and economic damages it cost, and it's effects on other countries. When the new world order developed from the ruins of world war II , there was a race! A race to development, a race to the moon, a battle of ideologies. Many battles have been fought in the past and those many battles brought about the downfall of many kingdoms! But the cold war, the unfought fight brought about the slow disintegration of the Soviet Union. Now the coronavirus has once again brought the similar race to the country's doorstep! A race to bring out the vaccine first. That might give them a head start in the vaccine making business for the near future.  In the first days of the pandemic World wide, the world came to a near stop, a lockdown! It affected the vulnerable the most. The rich, the celebrities gave public ...

Life is gonna screw you - but will you let it win?

No matter who you are, no matter where you're born, no matter what you do........... life is going to screw you hard. That is a fact, if it didn't happen for you, just give it time, it will. Some may call it midlife crisis, some may call it hard childhood......... life is going to hit you hard, but will you let it win? We'll think that there wouldn't be problems a million dollars can't solve. I'm pretty sure there are a set of problems that haunt millionaires around the world, and we'll have the problems that our life choices or state of our life brings. Be anything the case, people will be having problems with their lives. The answer some people choose - suicide! Let me tell you a little back story. And why I'm writing this. I'm a upsc aspirant ( 2018). My dream job is to be an IAS, I don't know I'll make it. But to me, and people around me think that once I get this job, it's done. The end credits will roll. ( Names you can ...

Indoctrination - Why religions still exist

Indoctrination - Why religions still exist Adult life is when you start to experience freedom. Freedom of nearly everything. Freedom to purchase the things you wanted as a kid, but couldn't because your parents said no. Freedom to consume alcohol without them knowing, Freedom to go with out with others. Freedom to manage your expenses and use them however you want, Freedom to try all those things you wanted to, but couldn't only because your parents prohibited to, Freedom to think without your parents thoughts effecting you......... freedom of nearly everything. Except your beliefs............ People never question things that were taught to them in their childhood. If you were told as a child that Santa Claus exists, do you still believe him when you're nearly 30? So why don't you stop and think about what your religion says and how much of it is true and how much of it fairy tales spun around some little known events. In everyday news events, you...
